Swiss company invests 3 million in Porto
Tweasy, a Swiss company specialized in the development of innovative technologies and applications in digital marketing area, plans to invest about 3 million euros over the next five years in its new development center based at the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC)
Since October 1st, the company is headquartered in UPTEC and it intends to "invest 3 million euros, being that the amount can be higher, depending on the expansion to new markets and the ability to integrate new employees," said José de Bastos, Tweasy CEO.
The company is installed in the new Innovation Center of UPTEC, a space which will open soon, located near the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto.
The investment in Portugal is a great aspiration of the company, but the decision to expand the business in Porto was driven by "Tweasy’s interest in UPTEC’s dynamics, and, on the other hand, the first contacts were excellent, which confirmed the choice," reveals the company’s CEO.
Considering the current difficult economic and financial situation of the country, investing in technological innovation is the key to growth. According to José Bastos, the partnership between Tweasy and UPTEC gives the company "the opportunity to evolve in an academic dynamic environment and discover and contact new talents, as well as to be close to innovation and benefit from ideas and networking”.
Tweasy was born in Switzerland, where its product is sold to SMEs by Swisscom AG, the largest Swiss telecommunications company. Tweasy expects to use its development center as the drive of international expansion for France and Germany, the largest countries in Europe.
